Easy Mini Sandwiches
Perfect for Kids’ Vacation Snacks or Brunch! Making Adorable Mini Sandwiches
For moms wondering what new thing to make every day during the kids’ vacation, we’ve prepared ‘Mini Sandwiches’ that are simple yet can spark children’s curiosity. They are small and easy to eat comfortably. Their cute appearance also makes them perfect for special occasion snacks!
Main Ingredients- 6 slices Whole Wheat Bread
- 60g Cabbage
- 40g Dill Pickles
- 70g Imitation Crab Meat (like Kracie)
- 1 Hard-Boiled Egg
Sauce & Seasoning- 2 Tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp Horseradish Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup
- 2 Tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp Horseradish Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, finely mince the dill pickles. If minced too coarsely, it might be difficult to chew inside the sandwich, so chopping them finely is recommended.
Step 2
Wash and thoroughly mince the cabbage. Mince it finely to maintain a crisp texture while also ensuring it’s tender to chew.
Step 3
Before placing in a bowl, spread the minced cabbage on paper towels and remove excess moisture. Squeeze out the water from the dill pickles as well to prevent the sandwich filling from becoming soggy.
Step 4
Shred or mince the imitation crab meat (like Kracie) into pieces with a bit of texture. Shredding it along the grain will be even better.
Step 5
Peel the hard-boiled egg and mash it with a fork or mince it finely. It’s okay if there are slight chunks remaining for texture, rather than mashing it too smoothly.
Step 6
In a wide bowl, combine the drained minced cabbage, minced dill pickles, shredded imitation crab meat, and mashed hard-boiled egg. Add 2 tablespoons each of mayonnaise and horseradish sauce and mix well until all ingredients are combined.
Step 7
Finally, add 1 tablespoon of tomato ketchup and gently mix. The ketchup adds a beautiful color and a sweet and sour flavor, making it even more delicious. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
Step 8
Trim the crusts off the whole wheat bread slices, then cut each slice into 4 small square pieces. Making them bite-sized is convenient for children.
Step 9
Place a generous spoonful of the sandwich filling onto each bread square. Be careful not to overfill, as it might make it difficult to close the sandwich.
Step 10
Cover with another bread square to complete your delicious mini sandwich! Gently press down to help the filling set.
Step 11
Alternatively, you can simply top the bread slices with the filling mixture without assembling them into sandwiches. They are delicious served like mini canapés and are easy to enjoy.
Step 12
When serving to children, consider pairing them with plain yogurt topped with their favorite fruits (e.g., tangerine varieties like Red Hyang, strawberries) for a more nutritious and visually appealing snack.
