Easy Hot Dog and Egg Pizza

Got some frozen hot dogs in your freezer that just aren’t hitting the spot? Turn them into something delicious with this simple recipe!
Ingredients- 2 frozen hot dogs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 handful of shredded pizza cheese (approx. 50g)
- A little cooking oil (about 1/2 tsp)
- Ketchup, to taste (for drizzling)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, crack the 2 eggs into a clean bowl. Whisk them thoroughly with a fork or whisk until the yolks and whites are completely combined and smooth. Ensure there are no streaks of yolk or white left.

Place the frozen hot dogs in the microwave and heat for about 1 to 1.5 minutes to thaw them. Once thawed, slice the hot dogs into bite-sized pieces, about 1 cm thick, cutting them at an angle.

Heat a non-stick skillet over low heat and add a small amount of cooking oil. It’s crucial to keep the heat low; too high heat will cause the egg to cook too quickly or burn. Pour the beaten eggs into the pan and spread them out thinly to form a base.

When the egg is about 70% cooked (the edges should be set but the center still a little soft), carefully arrange the sliced hot dog pieces on top of the egg. Try not to overlap the hot dog pieces too much.

Next, generously sprinkle the shredded pizza cheese evenly over the hot dogs and the entire egg base. More cheese means a richer flavor!

Cover the skillet with a lid and continue to cook over low heat until the pizza cheese is completely melted and gooey. Keep the heat on low throughout this process to prevent the bottom from burning and to allow the egg to cook through gently.

Once the cheese is melted and bubbly and the egg is fully cooked, carefully slide the hot dog and egg pizza onto a plate. Drizzle with ketchup to your liking. Enjoy this delightful combination of savory hot dog, melted cheese, and tender egg!
