Main Ingredients
  • 100g crab sticks (imitation crab)
  • A small amount of carrot
  • A small amount of green onion
  • A small amount of onion

Batter & Seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of stir-fry salt (or seasoned salt)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Crack 2 fresh eggs into a clean bowl.

Step 2

Prepare 100g of crab sticks. Gently separate the clumped parts, then coarsely shred or finely chop them with your hands or a knife and add them to the bowl. It’s best to leave some texture for a pleasant bite rather than chopping too finely.

Step 3

Finely chop the prepared vegetables such as carrot, green onion, and onion. Finely chopping the vegetables ensures a beautiful appearance and a softer texture when cooked. Add all the chopped vegetables to the bowl with the crab sticks and eggs.

Step 4

Add seasonings to enhance the flavor and help the crab sticks and vegetables blend well. Grind in a pinch of fresh black pepper and a little stir-fry salt (or seasoned salt) to adjust the taste. You can adjust the amount of salt according to your preference.

Step 5

Gently whisk everything together with chopsticks or a whisk until all the ingredients are well combined and form a batter. Stir until the egg mixture is evenly incorporated with all the ingredients, creating a smooth batter without lumps.

Step 6

Preheat a frying pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Ladle about one scoop of the batter into the preheated pan, forming it into a round, flat shape. A tip for ensuring even cooking is to make them not too thick.

Step 7

Once the bottom side is golden brown, carefully flip the pancake with a spatula. Flip it again and cook the other side until it is also a delicious golden brown. Be mindful of the heat to prevent burning.

Step 8

Arrange the nicely cooked crab stick pancakes on a serving plate. They are best enjoyed hot. You can serve them with ketchup or a soy-based dipping sauce for an even richer flavor experience.
