We’ve made delicious oyster sauce stir-fried mushrooms with the savory flavor of oyster sauce! This dish offers a delightful chewy texture from the mushrooms and a rich taste that complements any meal. It’s quick, easy, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients- 1 pack of King Oyster Mushrooms (approx. 200-250g)
- 2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- Pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the King Oyster Mushrooms. Trim off any dirty parts from the base of the mushrooms. Then, tear the mushrooms by hand into bite-sized pieces, about 3-4 cm long. Tearing them by hand helps preserve their texture, making them chewier. You don’t need to wash them.
Step 2
Now, heat a frying pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of sesame oil. The nutty aroma of sesame oil will blend wonderfully with the mushrooms. Once the pan is sufficiently hot, add all the torn mushrooms.
Step 3
Stir-fry the mushrooms for 1-2 minutes until they start to wilt slightly. Once the mushrooms release some moisture, add 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce and a pinch of black pepper. Oyster sauce is key to bringing out the umami flavor of the mushrooms. Stir-fry over high heat quickly to prevent too much liquid from forming and to keep the mushrooms crisp.
Step 4
Continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the oyster sauce and pepper evenly coat the mushrooms. The mushrooms should become lightly golden, and the sauce should reduce slightly. Finally, turn off the heat and sprinkle a pinch of toasted sesame seeds on top for extra flavor and visual appeal. Your delicious oyster sauce stir-fried mushrooms are ready!
