Dragon Fruit and Banana Smoothie: A Burst of Flavor with Every Sip!
Tired of bland dragon fruit? Discover the delightful texture and taste of dragon fruit by blending it with ripe bananas for an irresistible smoothie!
I tried blending the somewhat plain-tasting dragon fruit with a perfectly ripe banana, and the result was wonderfully delicious! A spoonful of honey added just the right amount of sweetness. The dragon fruit seeds, which popped with every bite, gave it a texture very similar to kiwi juice. I have some cubed dragon fruit stored in my freezer, and I’m excited to blend that with bananas soon. It’s so much tastier than eating dragon fruit on its own!
Ingredients
- 1 ripe Dragon Fruit
- 1 ripe Banana
- 200ml Milk
- Honey to taste (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare one dragon fruit and one ripe banana. This amount will yield about two generous servings. Since everything will be blended, chop the fruits into rough, bite-sized pieces. You can peel them first for easier blending.
Step 2
Place the chopped dragon fruit and banana pieces into your blender container. If you’re using frozen dragon fruit cubes, add them at this stage.
Step 3
Pour in 200ml of milk. You can adjust the amount of milk to achieve your desired smoothie consistency. Add more milk for a thinner smoothie or less for a thicker one.
Step 4
While the ripe banana adds natural sweetness, a touch of honey complements the flavors and balances the milk. Add honey according to your preference. If you don’t have honey, feel free to substitute with sugar or corn syrup.
Step 5
Secure the lid on the blender. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and no chunks remain. Both dragon fruit and banana are soft fruits, so they blend quickly and easily.
Step 6
Your creamy dragon fruit and banana smoothie is ready! A spoonful reveals a wonderfully sweet and smooth taste that’s incredibly satisfying. Bananas truly enhance any smoothie! The delightful popping sensation from the dragon fruit seeds adds a unique and appealing texture, reminiscent of kiwi juice. Interestingly, these seeds are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are beneficial for cardiovascular health. This recipe has convinced me that blending dragon fruit with bananas is the best way to enjoy it!
