Cooking Instructions

Step 1

We’ll be making delicious tuna pancakes today, a dish loved by both kids and adults. It’s incredibly easy to whip up using just canned tuna, making it a fantastic option.

Step 2

First, drain the oil from the canned tuna thoroughly. Excess oil can make the pancakes greasy, so it’s important to remove it completely. Place the drained tuna in a mixing bowl. Next, finely chop or thinly slice the prepared vegetables (Cheongyang peppers, carrot, onion, green onions) and add them to the bowl with the tuna. Try to cut the vegetables into similar sizes, as different thicknesses can affect cooking time.

Step 3

Now, to the bowl with the tuna and vegetables, add 1/2 cup of pancake mix, 2 eggs, 1 pinch of salt, and 2 tsp of minced garlic. Mix everything well until a cohesive batter forms. If the batter is too watery, add a little more pancake mix. If it’s too stiff, add another egg to reach the desired consistency. It’s key to mix the batter thoroughly to develop a good texture.

Step 4

Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Scoop spoonfuls of the batter and gently flatten them into round, disc shapes on the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. This will ensure the inside is cooked while the outside becomes nicely crispy. Keep an eye on the heat to prevent burning.

Step 5

Once both sides are beautifully golden brown and cooked, transfer the delicious tuna pancakes to a plate. They’re ready to enjoy! The savory tuna combined with the crisp texture of the vegetables is truly delightful. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup or soy sauce, for an even more satisfying treat.
