  • Category : Noodles & Dumplings
  • Ingredient Category : Pork
  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 1 serving
  • Cooking Time : Within 30 minutes
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Pasta Ingredients

  • Spaghetti pasta, 1 serving (approx. 100g)
  • Store-bought tomato sauce, 4 Tbsp
  • 1 fresh tomato (small)
  • 1/5 onion (small)
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese, desired amount

Pork and Side Dish Ingredients

  • Pork neck, 1 serving (approx. 1.5cm thick)
  • Store-bought spicy pork rib dumplings, 5-6 pieces
  • Olive oil or grapeseed oil, a little

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of generously salted water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add the spaghetti and cook for about 9 minutes, which is 1 minute less than the package instructions. (We’ll finish cooking it with the sauce.) Drain the cooked pasta and toss with a little olive oil or grapeseed oil to prevent sticking.

Step 1

Step 2

Prepare the vegetables for the pasta. Peel and dice the onion into roughly 0.5cm cubes. Wash and dice the tomato into similar-sized pieces. Heat 1-2 Tbsp of grapeseed oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent to release its aroma. Then, add the diced tomato and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.

Step 2

Step 3

Add 4 Tbsp of store-bought tomato sauce to the sautéed vegetables and mix well. Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan and toss for 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce seems too thick, add 1-2 Tbsp of the reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar to taste. (If cooking for children, you might want to add a little more sugar.)

Step 3

Step 4

Pat the pork neck dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and sugar. Heat a pan over high heat and sear the pork neck for 1 minute per side to lock in the juices. Then, reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking, flipping occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Ensuring it’s cooked all the way to the center is important.

Step 4

Step 5

Plate the prepared pasta attractively. Top the hot pasta with a generous amount of mozzarella cheese, allowing it to melt naturally. Arrange the steamed spicy pork rib dumplings and the nicely grilled pork neck alongside the pasta. Finish by sprinkling with sesame seeds and parsley flakes for a beautifully presented and delicious meal! Enjoy your meal.
