Main Ingredients- Donggeurangttaeng (leftover)
- Kkochi Jeon (leftover)
- Scallions
Special Sauce Ingredients- 1/2 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp Ketchup
- 2 Tbsp Mirin (or cooking wine)
- 1 Tbsp Oligodang (corn syrup or honey)
- 1/2 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp Ketchup
- 2 Tbsp Mirin (or cooking wine)
- 1 Tbsp Oligodang (corn syrup or honey)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the scallions into pieces that are roughly the same size as your other jeon ingredients when placed on the skewer. This will ensure a visually appealing presentation. If they are too long or too short, the skewer might look unbalanced.
Step 2
Let’s prepare the special sauce for our delicious jeon skewers! In a small bowl, combine 1/2 Tbsp gochujang, 1 Tbsp ketchup, 2 Tbsp mirin, and 1 Tbsp oligodang for a touch of sweetness. Mix them thoroughly until smooth and well combined, creating a glossy and appetizing sauce.
Step 3
Now it’s time to assemble the skewers. Thread the kkochi jeon, donggeurangttaeng, and the prepared scallions onto the skewers, alternating the ingredients for a pleasing visual. While any order works, arranging them thoughtfully by color and texture can make them even more enticing.
Step 4
Lightly grease a preheated pan with a bit of cooking oil. Carefully place the assembled jeon skewers onto the pan. Ensuring the pan is adequately preheated will prevent the jeon from sticking and help them brown beautifully.
Step 5
Brush the sauce generously over both sides of the skewers as they cook. Grill over medium-low heat, being careful not to burn them, allowing the sauce to penetrate and enhance the flavors. Once they are golden brown on both sides, your delicious jeon skewers are ready to be enjoyed!
