Delicious Kimchi Fried Rice Made Easily with an Air Fryer
Perfect for special days or any day! A fantastic Kimchi Fried Rice recipe completed in your air fryer.
Let’s make the classic Kimchi Fried Rice even easier and more convenient using an air fryer! You can enjoy delicious fried rice without needing a pan. Instead of stir-frying, simply mix all ingredients, put them in the air fryer, and let it do the work! Flipping it once or twice during cooking results in a flavorful Kimchi Fried Rice with perfectly separated grains of rice. For an even richer experience, top it with a sunny-side-up egg, as suggested, though it’s omitted here to focus on the air fryer method.
Main Ingredients- Spam, 100g
- Finely chopped kimchi, 1 cup
- Onion, 1/4
- Cooked rice, 1.5 bowls
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the Spam (100g). Place it in a large bowl. Tilt the bowl so the Spam slides to one side. Using a fork, mash the Spam against the side of the bowl. This makes it easier to mash evenly and smoothly. Ensure there are no large chunks left.
Step 2
Add the finely chopped kimchi (1 cup) and minced onion (1/4) to the bowl with the mashed Spam. Use a spatula or spoon to mix these ingredients thoroughly with the Spam. The tangy kimchi and sweet onion will create a fantastic harmony with the Spam.
Step 3
Now, add the cooked rice (1.5 bowls). Drizzle in the toasted sesame seeds (1 Tbsp) for nutty flavor and sesame oil (1.5 Tbsp) for aroma. Mix everything together again, ensuring the rice grains are evenly coated and there are no clumps. It’s important to mix thoroughly so each grain of rice is seasoned.
Step 4
Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper. Spread the prepared Kimchi Fried Rice mixture evenly over the parchment paper. Set the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. This duration ensures the ingredients are heated through and cooked without burning.
Step 5
During the cooking process, open the air fryer once or twice to gently flip the rice mixture. This helps the rice grains become more separate and ensures even heat distribution, leading to a more delicious fried rice. Remember to check periodically to prevent burning.
Step 6
Once perfectly cooked, transfer the Kimchi Fried Rice to a serving bowl. For an enhanced experience, you can top it with a sunny-side-up egg and a light sprinkle of sesame seeds and a drizzle more sesame oil. Mix everything together and enjoy this incredibly satisfying meal, easily made in your own kitchen!
