- 2 slices of bossam (boiled pork belly)
- Kimchi, to taste
Rice Burger Seasoning- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp ground sesame seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
- Seasoned laver (gim), to taste
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp ground sesame seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
- Seasoned laver (gim), to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all your ingredients. Finely chop the kimchi. Slice the bossam pork belly into bite-sized pieces. Chop the pickles. Crumble the seasoned laver. Have your ground sesame seeds and whole sesame seeds ready. If you have a burger press or mold, get that ready too.
Step 2
Place the prepared bossam pork belly slices into your rice cooker and set it to the ‘warm’ setting. This will keep the meat warm and tender, making it easier to handle when assembling the rice burgers.
Step 3
In a bowl of warm rice, add 1/2 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp ground sesame seeds, 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce, and 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil. Crumble in the seasoned laver. Mix everything together thoroughly with a spoon, ensuring the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the rice. This step is key for flavorful rice!
Step 4
Spoon about half of the seasoned rice into your burger mold or a small bowl. Press down firmly to shape it. Layer the warm bossam pork belly (cut into 4 pieces) on top of the rice. Add the kimchi (make sure to drain any excess liquid) over the pork. Finally, place the chopped pickles on top of the kimchi for a tangy contrast.
Step 5
Cover the fillings with the remaining seasoned rice, using the mold to create a neat burger shape. Gently press to secure the layers and prevent the fillings from falling out. Sprinkle generously with whole sesame seeds for a final touch. Your delicious rice burger is ready to be enjoyed warm!
