Chicken Quesadilla
  • 2 Whole Wheat Tortillas
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Slice of Cheese
  • A little Cabbage Salad
  • 1 Pack Chicken Breast (approx. 100g)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your Pulmuone whole wheat tortillas. These tortillas have a wonderful nutty and mild flavor. Lightly oil a dry pan and toast both sides of the 2 tortillas until golden brown. This step helps achieve a crispy texture for your quesadilla.

Step 2

In another pan, crack and lightly beat 1 egg. This will be used to create a thin omelet layer.

Step 3

Once the egg starts to set, carefully place one of the toasted tortillas on top of it. This allows the egg and tortilla to meld together.

Step 4

When the egg is partially cooked, flip the pan to gently cook the egg side down, ensuring the egg spreads evenly over the tortilla and holds its shape.

Step 5

On the cooked egg side, spread your desired amount of cabbage salad. This adds a refreshing crunch and flavor.

Step 6

Next, add the chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces, neatly over the cabbage salad. You can use pre-cooked chicken or lightly sauté it before adding it to the quesadilla.

Step 7

Now it’s time to add cheese for extra richness. The Ille-de-France Normandtal slice cheese, famously used by Yoon Eun Hye, is a great choice for its mild and non-salty flavor, which complements the chicken and vegetables perfectly. Add 1 slice of cheese.

Step 8

Cover the filling with the second tortilla. Cook over low heat just until the cheese is melted. Be careful not to overcook, as the tortilla can become too hard. Your delicious chicken quesadilla is almost ready!

Step 9

Voila! Your chicken quesadilla is complete, featuring a golden, crispy tortilla filled with tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and gooey melted cheese. Doesn’t it look appetizing?

Step 10

The quesadilla is generously filled and satisfying. The combination of cheesy goodness, savory chicken, and the crisp tortilla is delightful. Each bite is a burst of deliciousness.

Step 11

You can also assemble it differently. For instance, pour the beaten egg into the pan, let it cook slightly, then top with cabbage salad and another tortilla, folding it over. In this method, the egg acts as a binder and a softer layer.

Step 12

Another approach is to place the assembled quesadilla onto a plate, flip it over, and then place it back into the pan to cook the other side, layering the chicken on top. This method adds an interesting layered structure.

Step 13

This time, I’ve used seasoned ‘galbi’ (Korean BBQ ribs) flavored chicken breast. Using chicken with pre-made sauces means you don’t need extra seasoning, making it convenient and flavorful. Slice the chicken breast and arrange it on the quesadilla.

Step 14

Top the chicken with plenty of cheese, then cover with the final tortilla. Now, just grill both sides until golden brown for a galbi-flavored chicken quesadilla.

Step 15

Here’s the galbi-flavored chicken quesadilla, featuring a slightly softly grilled tortilla. The combination of the chewy tortilla and the rich galbi-flavored chicken is fantastic.

Step 16

This portion was just right for one person. The whole wheat tortilla was perfectly crisp and mild, and the cheese was delicious. It made for a truly enjoyable meal.

Step 17

Even without chicken breast, it’s delicious with just egg, cabbage, and cheese. Personally, I found this simpler combination even tastier – it was more delicate and clean. The beauty of quesadillas is their versatility; you can fill them with your favorite meats, seafood, or vegetables to create a personalized dish. Enjoy making a delicious and healthy quesadilla with your preferred ingredients!
