Main Ingredients
  • 1 sheet of flat fish cake (approx. 50-70g)
  • Small amount of carrot (approx. 20g)
  • Small amount of onion (approx. 20g)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash all your ingredients thoroughly. Finely chop the flat fish cake into small pieces, about 0.5cm x 0.5cm. Dice the carrot and onion into even smaller pieces, around 0.3cm x 0.3cm. Finely dicing everything ensures the ingredients blend well with the rice for maximum flavor.

Step 2

In a frying pan, combine the chopped fish cake, diced carrot, and diced onion. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to your preference. It’s best to start with a small amount and adjust the seasoning later after tasting. You can also use seasoned fish cakes which might require less added salt.

Step 3

Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in the pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the mixed ingredients to the pan. Stir-fry continuously with a spatula for about 2-3 minutes, or until the vegetables look translucent and the fish cake becomes fragrant. Frying quickly over high heat helps maintain the vegetables’ crispness.

Step 4

Add one bowl of cooked rice (about 200g) to the well-fried ingredients. Gently break up any clumps of rice with your spatula and stir-fry until the rice is evenly mixed with the other ingredients. Continue to fry for another 1-2 minutes to ensure the seasoning coats every grain of rice.

Step 5

Transfer the delicious fish cake fried rice to a serving plate. It’s best enjoyed hot! Serve with kimchi or your favorite side dishes for a satisfying meal.
