  • Ingredient Category : Meat
  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 1 serving
  • Cooking Time : Within 15 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • Duck bulgogi (or Ojingeo Bokkeum style) – appropriate amount (adjust to taste)
  • 1-2 bowls of cooked rice
  • Jaban Kim (seasoned seaweed sheets, or regular seasoned seaweed) – appropriate amount, crumbled or finely chopped
  • Furikake (rice seasoning mix) – appropriate amount (sprinkle-on type)
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the duck bulgogi (or Ojingeo Bokkeum style), the key ingredient for the fried rice. If you have pre-marinated duck bulgogi, you can use it as is. If it needs more seasoning, marinate it further according to your preference. (This recipe demonstrates how to use already cooked duck bulgogi.)

Step 1

Step 2

Using kitchen scissors, cut the prepared duck bulgogi into bite-sized pieces. This ensures it mixes well with the rice for a more delicious result. Transfer the finely chopped duck bulgogi directly into a pan.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat a pan over medium heat, add the duck bulgogi, and stir gently to prevent burning. The duck’s natural oils and juices will render out, releasing a delicious aroma. Be careful not to overcook it to the point of becoming dry.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the duck bulgogi is sufficiently cooked, add the cooked rice to the pan. Then, add the crumbled jaban kim (or seasoned seaweed), furikake, and black pepper to your taste. If you prefer a spicier and more savory fried rice, adding a little finely chopped aged kimchi at this stage is highly recommended and delicious!

Step 4

Step 5

Using a spatula or spoon, gently stir-fry the ingredients, ensuring the rice grains are not mashed. Stir until every grain of rice is coated with the flavor of the duck bulgogi, seaweed, and furikake. Finally, just before turning off the heat, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and give it one quick stir. Your flavorful duck bulgogi fried rice is now complete!
