Essential Ingredients

  • 1 packet commercial corn soup mix (approx. 100g)
  • 2 Tbsp canned sweet corn (kernels only, drained)
  • 3 slices bread

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 1 packet of corn soup mix and canned sweet corn for your dish. For the sweet corn, drain the liquid and set aside only the kernels.

Step 1

Step 2

While commercial corn soup mixes may contain some corn kernels, we’ll be adding extra canned sweet corn today to ensure a more abundant and satisfying texture with every spoonful.

Step 2

Step 3

Pour 800ml of water into a pot. Gradually add the corn soup mix while stirring gently with a whisk or spatula to ensure it dissolves completely without any lumps.

Step 3

Step 4

Open the can of sweet corn, measure out 2 tablespoons of kernels, and add them to the water mixture with the dissolved soup mix.

Step 4

Step 5

Now, place the pot over medium heat on the stove. It’s crucial to stir continuously to prevent the soup from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Continue cooking until the soup reaches your desired thick consistency. Your delicious corn chowder, filled with delightfully chewy corn kernels, will be ready!

Step 5

Step 6

This warm, freshly made corn chowder pairs wonderfully with a slice of crispy toasted bread, offering a satisfying yet light meal. For an extra touch, consider a sprinkle of black pepper to taste.
