Recipe Info

  • Category : Main dish
  • Ingredient Category : Pork
  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Boil / Simmer
  • Servings : 3 servings
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • Pork ribs 700g (1 pack)
  • Half a pear (approx. 120g)
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 cup Soju (200ml)
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup store-bought beef rib marinade (200ml)
  • 5 Tbsp soy sauce

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Before you start cooking, please prepare all the ingredients you need. Wash the pear and onion thoroughly.

Step 1

Step 2

Rinse the pork ribs under cold running water. Then, soak them in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove any blood. Removing the blood properly is key to a clean and pleasant taste without any gamey odor.

Step 2

Step 3

Peel the onion and roughly chop it into large pieces, suitable for blending. You don’t need to chop it too finely.

Step 3

Step 4

Similarly, peel and core the pear, then chop it into large pieces for blending. The pear’s natural sweetness will enhance the marinade’s flavor.

Step 4

Step 5

Place the chopped onion and half pear into a blender. Add 1 cup of soju, which is effective in removing any unpleasant odors.

Step 5

Step 6

Blend the onion, pear, and soju until smooth. Ensure it’s finely blended without any chunks for a smooth marinade texture.

Step 6

Step 7

Transfer the smoothly blended onion, pear, and soju mixture into a clean container. Pour in 1 cup of store-bought beef rib marinade. Using a pre-made marinade makes it even easier to achieve a deep flavor.

Step 7

Step 8

Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic to the marinade to incorporate a garlic aroma.

Step 8

Step 9

Finally, add 5 tablespoons of soy sauce for umami and a rich color. Since the pear, onion, and store-bought marinade already provide sufficient sweetness, you likely won’t need to add extra sugar.

Step 9

Step 10

Stir the marinade well to combine all ingredients. Sprinkle some black pepper for added fragrance. You can adjust the amount of pepper to your preference.

Step 10

Step 11

Let the marinade rest for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 11

Step 12

Place the blood-removed pork ribs into a pressure cooker. Pour in all the prepared marinade. Close the lid and cook over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes under pressure. (Adjust cooking time based on your pressure cooker model).

Step 12

Step 13

Once the pressure cooker starts whistling, turn off the heat after 5-10 minutes and allow the pressure to release naturally. Open the lid, check if the meat is tender, and then continue to simmer over medium heat for another 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and coats the ribs beautifully. This step deepens the flavor.

Step 13

Step 14

Your delicious braised pork ribs are now ready! The glossy finish and appetizing appearance will surely make your mouth water.

Step 14

Step 15

Serve the finished braised pork ribs in a beautiful dish. This impressive main course is sure to be loved by your family. Enjoy your meal!
