Main Ingredients
- 200g fresh salmon fillet (sushi-grade)
- 1 bowl warm cooked rice
- 1/6 medium onion
- 2 leaves romaine lettuce
- A small amount of radish sprouts
- 1 Tbsp chopped green onions
Special Soy Sauce Dressing
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp water
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- A touch of prepared mustard
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp water
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- A touch of prepared mustard
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the fresh vegetables for the topping. Thinly slice 1/6 of an onion. Wash 2 romaine lettuce leaves, pat them dry, and then cut them into similar-sized pieces. Feel free to substitute with other greens you have at home. Rinse the radish sprouts gently.
Step 2
Now, let’s make the special soy sauce dressing that elevates the salmon bowl! In a bowl, combine 3 Tbsp of soy sauce, 3 Tbsp of water, 2 Tbsp of vinegar for a tangy flavor, and 2 Tbsp of sugar. Whisk or stir until the sugar is completely dissolved and the ingredients are well combined.
Step 3
Cut the 200g of fresh salmon into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3cm thick. If you’re using leftover sashimi-grade salmon, about 150g will suffice. To maintain its freshness and quality, place the sliced salmon in the refrigerator to chill before assembling the bowl.
Step 4
Place one bowl of warm cooked rice into your serving bowl. Drizzle about 3-4 tablespoons of the prepared soy sauce dressing evenly over the rice. This allows the rice to absorb the delicious flavors, making even the plain rice tasty on its own!
Step 5
Arrange the chilled salmon slices decoratively around the edge of the dressed rice. The vibrant color of the salmon will make the dish look even more appetizing.
Step 6
Finally, it’s time to add the finishing touches. Artfully arrange the radish sprouts, sliced onion, and lettuce over the salmon. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp of chopped green onions and a small amount of prepared mustard (if desired) for extra flavor. Mix everything together before eating for a wonderful taste sensation! If you find the seasoning needs adjustment, you can always add a little more soy sauce dressing to suit your preference. Enjoy your delicious and elegant salmon rice bowl!
