Using an Inari sushi kit makes the process even simpler. We’ve added lemon juice to cut through any fishiness and enhance the salmon’s freshness. This is a recommended simple yet impressive homemade meal.
Key Ingredients
- 10 Triangular fried tofu pouches (Inari)
- 200g Cooked rice (warm)
- 200g Fresh salmon fillet
- 15g Sushi vinegar seasoning (from Inari kit)
- 4g Seasoned mixed vegetables (from Inari kit)
- 1 Tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tsp Wasabi (Japanese horseradish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully remove any bones and skin from the salmon fillet and finely mince it. Mincing the salmon well will help it stay neatly on top of the rice without falling off, ensuring a stable presentation.
Step 2
Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to the minced salmon. This will add a refreshing zest and eliminate any fishy odors from the salmon.
Step 3
Gently mix the lemon juice with the salmon. Ensure the salmon is mixed evenly and not clumped together. Letting it marinate for a short while can further enhance the flavor.
Step 4
Now, let’s prepare the sushi rice. In a bowl with 200g of warm cooked rice, add 4g of the seasoned mixed vegetables included in the Inari sushi kit.
Step 5
Next, squeeze in the 15g of sushi vinegar seasoning that comes with the Inari sushi kit.
Step 6
Using a spatula or spoon, gently mix the rice, being careful not to mash the grains. It’s important to distribute the seasoned vegetables and sushi vinegar evenly throughout the rice.
Step 7
Lightly rinse the triangular fried tofu pouches under cold water and gently squeeze out the excess moisture. Be careful not to squeeze too hard, as the tofu can tear easily. Using the back of a spoon to press out the water is recommended.
Step 8
Gently open one side of the prepared tofu pouch with your fingers to create a pocket for the rice.
Step 9
Now it’s time to fill the tofu with rice. Lightly press down the center of the tofu pouch to create a space, then fill it with a moderate amount of sushi rice. Filling with too little rice can make the salmon seem overpowering and rich, while too much rice might cause it to spill out. Adjust the amount of rice based on the size of the tofu pouch. Aim to fill the rice slightly below the rim of the tofu pouch.
Step 10
Place a small amount of the prepared wasabi on top of the rice. Adjust the quantity according to your preference. Wasabi will enhance the salmon’s flavor and balance the overall taste.
Step 11
Gently spread the wasabi evenly over the rice, ensuring it’s not clumped. The key is to have a subtle wasabi flavor infused throughout the rice.
Step 12
Finally, carefully place the minced salmon, tossed with lemon juice, on top of the rice in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Gently shape the salmon as you place it to prevent it from scattering.
Step 13
Your fresh and delicious Salmon Inari Sushi is complete! Enjoy this wonderful meal.
