Core Ingredients- 3 slices of bread
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup macaroni (approx. 100g)
- 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp mustard
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, measure and prepare 1 cup of macaroni. Preparing a generous amount will allow you to enjoy it even more.
Step 2
In a large pot, bring plenty of water to a boil and add 2 teaspoons of salt. Once the water is boiling, add the macaroni and cook for about 15 minutes. It’s done when you can easily pierce it with a fork. Drain the cooked macaroni in a colander.
Step 3
Now it’s time to prepare the ingredients that will add richness to your macaroni pie. I personally prepared canned corn, pink sausage, imitation crab stick, and finely chopped onion. You can also add other ingredients like bacon, ham, or bell peppers according to your preference.
Step 4
In a bowl, combine the cooked macaroni with the prepared vegetables (or sausage, crab stick, etc.). Add 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of mustard, 1/2 tablespoon of sugar, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined. It’s important to mix smoothly so the ingredients meld together nicely.
Step 5
Trim the crusts off the bread slices. Place them in the microwave for about 20 seconds to slightly soften them. This will make it easier to flatten them with a rolling pin without tearing. Flatten them thinly.
Step 6
Generously spread the prepared macaroni filling onto the flattened bread slices. If you love cheese, add 1-2 slices of cheese or a handful of mozzarella cheese for an even richer cheesy flavor.
Step 7
Fold the bread in half to enclose the filling. Use a fork to firmly press along the edges to seal the pie securely. Pressing with a fork creates a nice pattern and prevents the filling from leaking out. Work quickly to ensure the bread stays soft.
Step 8
In a wide bowl, crack 2 eggs and whisk them well. Dip the prepared macaroni pies into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly. An even coating of egg will ensure a crispier and more appealing finish when cooked.
Step 9
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and add enough oil. Place the egg-coated macaroni pies in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides. Alternatively, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10-15 minutes until golden. Baking in the oven provides more even cooking.
