How to Grill Chicken Breast in an Air Fryer: Easy Curried Chicken Breast Recipe

Curried Chicken Breast Grill

Hello, this is Wonder Mom 🙂 My husband has decided to get back into building muscle, so he’s started exercising again. He’s also paying attention to his diet, so he ordered 5kg of frozen chicken breast… I wonder how long that will last! He already loves working out and has a lot of strength training equipment at home. In his younger days, he used to boil frozen chicken breast and eat it plain, without any seasoning. But now he says he can’t do that anymore!

  • Ingredient Category : Chicken
  • Occasion : Diet / Healthy
  • Cooking : Grilled / Roasted
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 30 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 2 Tbsp curry powder
  • 2 swirls of olive oil (about 2 Tbsp)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Completely thaw the frozen chicken breasts. If they are even slightly frozen, the texture will be different when cooked. Chicken breast can be quite dry, and being partially frozen can worsen this. For air fryer chicken breast, whole pieces are good, but to reduce cooking time, slicing them beforehand is a great method.

Step 1

Step 2

Trimmed chicken breasts, front and back! Let’s grill them deliciously with curry. Due to the nature of the ingredient, chicken breast can have an unpleasant smell if boiled or cooked incorrectly. While great for diet control, using curry is a way to enjoy it without that gamey taste.

Step 3

How to grill chicken breast in an air fryer. An easier and more convenient way to grill curried chicken breast! We’ll use a ziplock bag. The ingredients are just curry powder and olive oil. Curry eliminates the gamey smell and seasons it. Olive oil adds moisture. Put everything in a bag and shake!

Step 4

Using a large size: 3 chicken breasts / 2 Tbsp curry powder / 2 swirls of olive oil. The more curry powder you add, the saltier it will be, so adjust the seasoning to your preference. The effect of olive oil is similar to marinating beef; it helps retain moisture during grilling, keeping the chicken breast succulent. Use enough olive oil to coat the meat.

Step 4

Step 5

You could use a plate or bowl, but shaking everything in a ziplock bag reduces washing up and is very convenient.

Step 5

Step 6

Massage the chicken breast to ensure the curry and olive oil get in between the pieces. If grilling whole, thicker parts benefit from marinating longer for better flavor penetration. However, slicing it before cooking is a way to reduce cooking time and allow the seasoning to absorb more deeply. I usually slice it for the kids to eat easily, but my husband wanted to eat it like a steak, so I made it whole this time ;;

Step 6

Step 7

For a Korean finish, sprinkle with sesame seeds. For a Western touch, add herbs and parsley!

Step 7

Step 8

For air fryer chicken breast, the cooking time is 180°C (350°F) for 20 minutes. The time can vary depending on the size and quantity. For the large size I used, it was 20 minutes. If you slice it, the cooking time will be shorter, or if you use smaller pieces, the time can be reduced. To grill chicken breast moistly in the air fryer, you can place parchment paper at the bottom. However, doing so prevents the oil (olive oil) from draining, which can increase the calorie count.
