First, prepare the Oiji, which is the foundation for a crunchy and delicious Oiji Muchim. If you are using store-bought Oiji, it can be quite salty, so it’s recommended to soak it in cold water for about 10-20 minutes to lightly reduce the saltiness.

Slice the Oiji into bite-sized pieces (about 0.5 cm thick). Rinse the sliced Oiji lightly in cold water and drain well. It’s crucial to remove as much water as possible at this stage. Press the Oiji firmly with paper towels to squeeze out excess moisture. This prevents the dish from becoming watery and allows the seasoning to penetrate better, resulting in a tastier dish.

Place the drained Oiji into a mixing bowl. Now it’s time to add the delicious seasonings.
