I often make hotteok at home, but there’s always some jam mix left over, which feels like a waste. While pondering what to do with it, I discovered a way to enjoy it with tortillas! This recipe offers a delightful, crispy treat with a sweet, gooey center.

First, prepare the leftover jam mix from when you made hotteok. This is the jam mix that was stored in a separate zip-top bag in the refrigerator. It’s very convenient to have on hand when you crave a dessert and can be used immediately with tortillas.

Place a non-stick skillet over low heat and preheat it gently. Once preheated, lay one tortilla flat on the pan. Cooking over medium-low heat will prevent burning and ensure a delicious crisp.

Spread the hotteok jam mix only on one half of the tortilla. Avoid spreading it too thickly, as it will take longer to cook and might ooze out the sides. Even a moderate amount will yield a wonderfully sweet and tasty result! Careful portioning is key for a neat fold.

Fold the plain half of the tortilla over the jam-filled half to create a semi-circular shape. Ensure the edges are sealed well to prevent the jam from leaking out during cooking.
