Don’t Envy Cafes! Make Honey Bread Easily with Your Air Fryer

I often order honey bread with my coffee when I visit cafes. Now, you can easily make cafe-worthy honey bread at home with just an air fryer! It’s a simple recipe that will impress your guests.

Recipe Info

  • Category : Bread
  • Ingredient Category : Flour / Wheat
  • Occasion : Snack
  • Cooking : Grilled / Roasted
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 10 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Ingredients
  • 3 slices of bread (thicker bread works best)
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • Heavy cream (whipped or unwhipped)
  • Honey or syrup (like maple syrup)
  • Ground cinnamon

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your butter. If your butter is very hard, microwave it for about 10 seconds until just softened. Alternatively, you can leave it at room temperature for a bit beforehand. Be careful not to melt it completely, as it will be too liquidy to spread.

Step 2

Take your 3 slices of bread and spread the softened butter evenly on one side (the top side). Ensure you get good coverage, all the way to the edges, for maximum flavor and crispiness.

Step 3

On two of the buttered bread slices, use a knife to cut them into 9 equal pieces (like a grid). It’s important not to cut all the way through to the bottom; leave about a third of the bread intact at the base. This creates little pockets for the sweet toppings. If you’re using a loaf of bread, make cuts about two-thirds of the way down. Drizzle honey or syrup lightly into each cut.

Step 4

Arrange the prepared bread slices in your air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Air fryers can vary in power, so start with 5 minutes. Check for doneness and add another 1-2 minutes if needed. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

Step 5

After 5 minutes, take a look. The bread should be beautifully golden brown and toasted.

Step 6

Once the bread has cooled slightly (so it’s not piping hot), pipe or spoon your heavy cream on top. Finish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and an extra drizzle of honey or syrup if desired. A key tip: Add the cream only after the bread has cooled down a bit; if added to hot bread, it will melt too quickly.

Step 7

And there you have it – your homemade Air Fryer Honey Bread is ready! I’ve also prepared a refreshing iced Americano to pair perfectly with this sweet treat.

Step 8

Dipping a piece into the cream, I’m delighted by the satisfying crunch of the toast, the rich buttery aroma, and the sweet cream—it’s a truly delicious combination! This would be a guaranteed hit if you’re entertaining guests for coffee. Enjoy your impressive homemade dessert!
