  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 2 bags Cheetos snacks
  • Plenty of cooking oil (enough to deep-fry)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

First, cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces, about 1 cm thick. Season the cut chicken pieces generously with salt and pepper. This step helps to infuse flavor deep into the chicken.

Now, let’s prepare the Cheetos coating. Carefully tear open a corner of the Cheetos snack bags to let out the air. Then, use a rolling pin or a heavy bottle to crush the Cheetos into coarse crumbs. Don’t aim for a fine powder; leaving some texture will result in a crispier chicken after frying.

It’s time to coat the chicken. First, dredge the seasoned chicken pieces evenly in the all-purpose flour. Next, dip them into the beaten egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Finally, press the chicken into the crushed Cheetos, coating them thoroughly. Press down firmly to ensure the Cheetos adhere well during frying.

Pour a generous amount of cooking oil into a deep pan or a Dutch oven – enough to submerge the chicken pieces for even frying. Frying over medium heat allows the chicken to cook through completely while achieving a perfect crunch. Once done, remove the chicken and drain on paper towels.
