No-Water Smoked Pork Belly Bossam (Boiled Pork) – Recommended Air Fryer Dish
Let’s make a tender and delicious air fryer bossam that’s crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.
Main Ingredients- Whole Pork Belly 1 ‘geun’ (approx. 600g or 1.3 lbs)
- Herb Salt, to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Hello everyone! Today, I’ll guide you through making a crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside air fryer smoked pork belly bossam, which is incredibly easy to prepare at home. We’ll cook it without water to enhance the natural flavors of the meat.
Step 2
First, score the prepared whole pork belly. Making cuts helps the seasoning penetrate better and improves the texture when cooked. Aim for cuts about 0.5cm apart.
Step 3
Next, generously sprinkle herb salt all over the scored pork belly to season it. Herb salt not only removes any gamey odor but also adds a wonderful aroma. Gently rub it in with your hands to ensure even seasoning.
Step 4
Preheat your air fryer. Place the seasoned pork belly into the air fryer basket and set the temperature to 180°C (356°F). Cook for a total of 40 minutes. If you’re using a rotisserie-style air fryer, you might want to take it out halfway, flip the pork, and cook for another 20 minutes for even cooking. For standard air fryers, after 20 minutes, carefully flip the pork belly and cook for the remaining 20 minutes.
Step 5
Voilà! Your air fryer bossam is ready – beautifully golden brown and crispy on the outside, yet incredibly moist and juicy on the inside. For an enhanced taste experience, serve it with the shredded scallions and the simple dipping sauce made by mixing gochugaru, fish sauce, and sugar. Enjoy your delicious homemade bossam!
