Crispy & Juicy Air Fryer Dumplings (Gulim Mandu)
Air Fryer Gulim Mandu: Cooking Time and Simple Recipe
Introducing an easy air fryer recipe for ‘Gulim Mandu’ (a type of Korean dumpling), featuring a delightful crispy exterior and a moist, flavorful interior. This method offers a unique texture compared to steamed dumplings and is incredibly simple to follow.
Ingredients- Approximately 10+ Gulim Mandu (Bukchon Gulim Mandu recommended)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
While delicious when steamed, Gulim Mandu takes on an even more delightful character and convenience when cooked in an air fryer, offering a distinctively different texture. The beauty of this method is its simplicity: just place the dumplings in the air fryer basket without any added oil and cook. (I used Bukchon Gulim Mandu for this recipe.)
Step 2
Unlike regular dumplings that might benefit from a light brush of oil to prevent drying, Gulim Mandu, with its unique filling wrapped directly, stays wonderfully moist and tender on the inside without needing extra oil. This ensures the exterior doesn’t become dry and maintains its deliciousness.
Step 3
Arrange the Gulim Mandu in a single layer inside your air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 180°C (350°F) and cook for about 10 minutes. This cooking time will yield dumplings that are perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, while remaining delightfully warm and juicy on the inside. Feel free to adjust the cooking time slightly based on your preference and air fryer model.
