Step 2
I used freshly purchased wings, so I skipped the step of soaking them in milk. If your chicken wings have a gamey odor when you open the package, soaking them in milk for about 30 minutes can help eliminate it. Rinse the chicken wings thoroughly under running water three to four times. After rinsing, let them drain in a colander to remove excess moisture, which will help achieve crispier wings.
Step 3
Now, let’s make the seasoning that will elevate the flavor of the chicken wings. In a bowl, combine 1 Tbsp barbecue salt, 1 tsp paprika powder, 1 tsp smoke flavor, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp minced garlic, and 2 Tbsp olive oil. Mix them well. The smoke flavor, in particular, is potent even in small amounts, adding a robust smoky aroma that mimics grilling. If you enjoy air fryer cooking, this is a highly recommended product! It’s a marvelous ingredient that imparts a char-grilled flavor with just a little added.
Step 4
Have you found cleaning your air fryer after each use to be a hassle? While this method might slightly increase cooking time when preparing large batches, it doesn’t significantly impact cooking time for smaller portions (1-2 servings). Line the drip tray at the bottom with aluminum foil. Place a damp paper towel inside, and cover the cooking tray with aluminum foil or parchment paper. After cooking, you can simply discard the foil, eliminating the need for extensive cleaning. This makes post-cooking cleanup incredibly convenient!
Step 5
Now, place the seasoned chicken wings into the air fryer.
Step 6
To perfectly cook the chicken wings, use a two-stage temperature approach. First, cook them at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the temperature to 325°F (165°C) and cook for another 15 minutes. This total of 30 minutes will ensure they are cooked through beautifully.
Step 7
During the second stage, when you lower the temperature, flip the chicken wings over once. This ensures even cooking and a crispier texture all around.
Step 8
Arrange the finished chicken wings on a plate and sprinkle with a little parsley powder for a mouthwatering presentation! I also served them with a side of store-bought barbecue sauce. Feel free to pair them with your favorite sauce.
Step 9
The chicken wings, completed in just 30 minutes, are perfectly cooked – crispy on the outside and incredibly moist and tender on the inside. The accompanying barbecue sauce further enhanced the flavor, making them an ideal snack to enjoy with a cold beer.
