Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to share a super simple way to make honey hotteok (Korean sweet pancakes) in your air fryer, perfect for a cozy winter snack. You can find frozen honey hotteok in both mini and regular sizes. I personally love the mini ones because they’re just the right bite-size, making them ideal for snacking and for kids. The mini hotteok packs are usually around 8 pieces, quite affordable, and incredibly easy to prepare. If you happen to have any leftover hotteok, don’t throw them away! Store them in the freezer, and you can easily whip them up in the air fryer whenever a craving strikes, just like they were freshly made. Frozen hotteok can be cooked directly from frozen – no need to thaw them beforehand. Despite their small size, these mini hotteok are surprisingly filling and can serve as a satisfying meal replacement, which is wonderful during busy winter days when you don’t feel like cooking a full meal.

Step 2

Air fryers are truly amazing for how versatile and convenient they are! I find myself reaching for my air fryer for almost everything because cooking is so straightforward, and cleanup is a breeze. Today’s honey hotteok is no exception. Arrange your frozen honey hotteok in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap. Set the temperature to 180°C (350°F) and cook for about 6 minutes. To get that perfect crispy texture on both sides, flip the hotteok halfway through, around the 3-minute mark. Once they’re cooked, your delicious honey hotteok are ready to enjoy – perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully warm and gooey on the inside!

Step 3

Voila! Here are the honey hotteok, perfectly cooked in the air fryer. The convenience of being able to whip these up whenever you fancy a snack is simply fantastic – definitely a 10 out of 10 from me! While you can microwave hotteok, I much prefer using the air fryer because it achieves a delightful crispiness on the exterior that you just can’t get otherwise. The result is a wonderfully crisp outside with a warm, molten honey filling that tastes absolutely divine. Enjoy them with a warm cup of tea or coffee for a truly perfect winter treat!
