  • 3 Dongchimi radishes
  • 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 1 Tbsp Oligodang (corn syrup or similar sweetener)
  • A pinch of sesame seeds

Today, we’re going to make a savory and flavorful dongchimi radish salad. It’s much simpler than you think and anyone can easily follow along!

If the dongchimi radish you have is too salty, soak it in cold water for about 10 minutes to slightly reduce the saltiness. However, ours wasn’t too salty, so we only soaked it briefly before squeezing out all the water firmly with our hands. This step is crucial for the final seasoning!

Now, place the squeezed dongchimi radish in a large bowl. Add all the prepared seasonings: 1 Tbsp gochugaru, 1 Tbsp oligodang, and a pinch of sesame seeds. Gently mix everything together with your hands, ‘jobal jobal’ style, ensuring the seasoning coats the radish evenly. Be careful not to mix too vigorously, as it might bring out a raw flavor.
