Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Make Perfectly Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies in Your Air Fryer
While chewy cookies are lovely, I personally prefer the satisfying crunch of crispy cookies. Finding good crispy cookie recipes can be a challenge, so I decided to experiment and see if the air fryer could work its magic! The result? Deliciously crunchy cookies that are surprisingly easy to make at home.
Ingredients- 80g unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 60g granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, at room temperature
- 140g cake flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 80g chocolate chips
- 2 Twix bars, finely chopped
- 1 pinch of salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using a whisk or spatula until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Then, add the room-temperature egg and mix well until fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
Step 2
Gently fold in the sifted cake flour and baking powder using a spatula. Mix just until the dry ingredients are combined and no streaks of flour remain. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough cookies.
Step 3
Stir in the chocolate chips and the finely chopped Twix bars until evenly distributed throughout the dough. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 12 hours. Chilling the dough allows the flavors to meld and improves the cookie’s texture.
Step 4
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for about 5 minutes. Scoop portions of the chilled dough onto the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each cookie. Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes. Carefully flip the cookies and air fry for another 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. (For oven baking: Bake at 180°C (350°F) for approximately 15 minutes.)
Step 5
Remove the cookies from the air fryer and transfer them to a wire rack. Let them cool completely. They will continue to crisp up as they cool, ensuring that perfect crunchy texture!
