Essential Ingredients

  • Injeolmi (Korean rice cake): Prepare an appropriate amount according to your preference.

Optional Ingredients

  • Honey: For added sweetness.
  • Whipping cream: For a richer, creamier flavor.
  • Milk: To serve alongside.

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, gently shake off some of the soybean powder from the surface of the Injeolmi you’ll be using. You don’t need to remove all of it; a little dusting can add to the flavor and texture. This step prevents the powder from burning too much and enhances the nutty aroma.

Step 1

Step 2

Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper. This prevents the Injeolmi from sticking and makes cleanup much easier. Arrange the prepared Injeolmi pieces on the parchment paper, ensuring they are not touching each other to allow for even cooking.

Step 2

Step 3

Set your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and cook for approximately 7 minutes. The cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size of your Injeolmi pieces and your air fryer model. It’s a good idea to check after about 5 minutes; you’re looking for the Injeolmi to become lightly golden brown on the outside and soft and slightly puffed up inside. Be careful not to overcook, as they can become too hard.

Step 3

Step 4

Once beautifully grilled, transfer the Injeolmi to a serving plate. For an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle a little honey over the warm Injeolmi. You can also sprinkle a bit more soybean powder for added flavor. Enjoy this delightful treat immediately while it’s warm and chewy, perhaps with a side of whipped cream or a glass of cold milk for a perfect contrast.
