  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

  • 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine (Mirin or similar)
  • 4 Tbsp Mozzarella Cheese

Meat Pie Ingredients

  • 15 sheets Frozen Pie Dough
  • 2 Tbsp Butter (softened)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s prepare the delicious bulgogi filling! For the basic bulgogi sauce recipe, please refer to this link: https://blog.naver.com/koreastencil/222953047969. Following this link will guide you through an even more detailed and delicious bulgogi sauce method.

Step 1

Step 2

Take the frozen pie dough sheets and let them thaw naturally at room temperature for about 30 minutes to an hour before baking. Be careful not to leave them out for too long, as the dough can become sticky.

Step 2

Step 3

Allow the butter to soften at room temperature until it’s spreadable. If you’re short on time, you can melt it slightly in the microwave by heating it in 10-second intervals, just until it’s almost liquid but not fully melted.

Step 3

Step 4

Generously brush the inside of your pie molds or oven-safe pan with the softened butter. Place one thawed pie dough sheet into the mold and fill it generously with the prepared bulgogi filling. Gather the edges of the dough to enclose the filling, similar to making a large dumpling. If you prefer a traditional pie shape, you can top it with another sheet of pie dough and then crimp the edges decoratively to seal it.

Step 4

Step 5

Brush the melted butter evenly over the tops of all the meat pies. Applying butter evenly will help achieve a beautiful golden color and a wonderfully crisp texture when baked.

Step 5

Step 6

Place the meat pies in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) and bake for a total of 20 minutes. Flipping them halfway through can help ensure even browning. (Tip: You can skip preheating the oven for the second round of baking if needed.)

Step 6

Step 7

Freshly out of the oven, the meat pies reveal their flaky, layered texture, resembling puff pastry, with a tempting golden-brown crust. They look absolutely delicious!

Step 7

Step 8

To serve, line your serving plate with parchment paper and place the finished bulgogi meat pies on top for a neat presentation. Enjoy the fantastic combination of the sweet and savory bulgogi filling and the crisp pie crust! Your homemade Bulgogi Meat Pies are ready to be savored.
