Main Ingredients- Cooked Rice 400g (warm rice)
- Bean Sprouts 200g
- Spam 200g (1 can)
- Vegetable Oil 3 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your vegetables and spam. Peel and finely dice the onion. Chop the green onion into small pieces. Open the can of Spam and cut it into bite-sized cubes, about 1cm in size. Rinse the bean sprouts gently under cold running water to remove any dirt, then drain them thoroughly. Making sure they are well-drained will prevent the fried rice from becoming soggy.
Step 2
Now, let’s start stir-frying! Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Swirl the pan slightly to ensure the oil coats the entire surface.
Step 3
Add the diced Spam to the pan and cook until it’s golden brown and slightly crispy. The Spam will release its savory oils, adding a deeper flavor to your fried rice. If the pan seems dry, feel free to add a little more oil.
Step 4
Once the Spam is nicely browned, add the 400g of cooked rice and 200g of bean sprouts to the pan. Using warm rice will help prevent it from clumping and make it easier to stir-fry.
Step 5
Here comes the key to flavor! Generously add 3 tablespoons of oyster sauce. Oyster sauce not only seasons the Spam, bean sprouts, and rice but also adds a rich umami depth. You can substitute with soy sauce or adjust the amount to your preference.
Step 6
Stir-fry everything together. Be careful not to overcook the bean sprouts, as they will lose their crispiness. The trick is to stir-fry them for just 1-2 minutes until they are slightly wilted. Just before turning off the heat, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for a nutty aroma.
Step 7
Finally, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds over the top for an extra nutty flavor and a beautiful finish. Your delicious Bean Sprout and Spam Fried Rice is ready! Enjoy it hot for the best taste.
