Crispy and Savory Homemade Nurungji (Scorched Rice)
A Unique Snack & Meal: Deliciously Toasted Nurungji
This is a recipe for nurungji, which can be made as a snack or a meal and stored in the freezer. When you’re not feeling well, you can enjoy it as nurungji soup (a porridge), and when you’re craving a snack, it’s perfect for munching on!^^
Ingredients
- 2 bowls of cooked rice
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
It’s incredibly simple! Spread the cooked rice thinly in a frying pan. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, then flip and cook for another 10 minutes. The picture shows rice after 10 minutes of cooking, but if you toast it a bit longer, it will be even more delicious and nutty!^^
Step 2
If you want to enjoy it as nurungji porridge, bring water to a boil in a pot, add the nurungji, and simply boil it until done!^^ Isn’t it super easy?
Step 3
To enjoy it like a snack, make it very thin, and it will be as crispy as a cracker. Making nurungji in various thicknesses increases its versatility!^^
