I recently made and gifted some homemade gimjaban stir-fry to the lovely ladies I’ve met at my new hobby class. They absolutely loved it and kept asking for the recipe! I told them I’d post a video, but explaining it individually to so many people was quite challenging. So, I’m sharing the detailed recipe here! If you follow these steps, you’ll create a gimjaban stir-fry that is incredibly easy to make, wonderfully crispy, and far superior to anything you can buy in stores. I’m confident you’ll agree!

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Before starting your gimjaban stir-fry, the key to a delicious outcome is preparing fresh gimjaban. Get one bag of store-bought gimjaban. The focus here is to bring out the natural flavor of the gimjaban itself, without relying on heavy seasonings.

Step 2

Tear the prepared gimjaban into bite-sized pieces. If you tear them too small, they might crumble during the stir-frying process. Aim for pieces about 2-3 cm in size, torn somewhat roughly. Tearing them by hand helps preserve the unique texture of the gimjaban.

Step 3

Now for the most crucial step: stir-frying! Use low heat and be careful not to burn the gimjaban. The goal is to dry out the gimjaban and make it wonderfully crispy. You don’t need to add any oil to the pan; just add the gimjaban and stir gently over low heat. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes. This process will make the gimjaban even more savory and crispy. Keep a close eye on it, as it can burn easily.
