Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare all the ingredients for your delicious Samoga-sari salad. Washing them cleanly and measuring them out will make the cooking process much smoother.

Step 2

Samoga-sari is a precious seaweed that is difficult to cultivate and can only be harvested from the wild. It’s important to handle it gently.

Step 3

Quickly blanch the prepared Samoga-sari in boiling water for about 1 minute. Be careful not to overcook it, as it can become mushy. Immediately after blanching, rinse it thoroughly 2-3 times in cold water to cool it down. Drain it well in a colander. Once drained, snip the seaweed a few times with scissors into bite-sized pieces.

Step 4

Gently shred the crab sticks along their natural grain into bite-sized pieces. If using canned pineapple slices, cut them into small, manageable pieces. (If you’re using canned pineapple chunks, you can use them as they are.)

Step 5

In a large bowl, combine the well-drained Samoga-sari seaweed, shredded crab sticks, and chopped pineapple. Using a generous bowl will help ensure the ingredients mix well.

Step 6

Now, let’s make the delicious salad dressing. In a separate bowl, combine 4 Tbsp mayonnaise, 2 Tbsp vinegar, 1 Tbsp canned pineapple syrup, 0.5 Tbsp brown sugar, 1 pinch of salt, and 2 pinches of black pepper. You can adjust the sweetness and tanginess to your liking for an even more delicious result.

Step 7

Using chopsticks or a spoon, gently toss all the ingredients and dressing in the bowl until everything is evenly coated. The key is to mix gently so as not to break the ingredients. Your delicious Samoga-sari seaweed salad is now complete! Serve it immediately and enjoy.
