Crispy and Delicious Potato Pancake (Gamjajeon)
Simple Homemade Potato Pancake Recipe
A perfect recipe for when you’re feeling peckish! This potato pancake is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, easily made even with just a leftover piece of potato. A delightful snack awaits!
Main Ingredients- 1/4 medium potato
- A pinch of salt
- A little pickled chili (optional, adds flavor)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash and peel 1/4 of a medium potato. Finely grate the potato using a grater or a food processor for convenience. Add a pinch of salt to the grated potato and mix well to season. It’s best to taste and adjust the saltiness so it’s not too overpowering.
Step 2
Heat a frying pan with a generous amount of cooking oil. Pour the potato batter thinly into the pan to ensure a crispy texture. Thinly sliced pickled chili can be artfully arranged on top of the batter. The spicy kick from the chili and the savory potato create a wonderful flavor combination.
Step 3
Cook over medium-low heat until the edges of the pancake turn golden brown. Flip the pancake and cook the other side until it’s also golden brown and crispy. Once both sides are perfectly cooked, cut the potato pancake into desired portions and serve warm on a plate. Enjoy immediately for the best taste!
