- 7 Tbsp honey (adjust sweetness to taste)
- 5 Tbsp softened butter
- 10 dried red chili flakes (use more or crush for extra spice)
- A little fresh parsley, finely chopped
- A pinch of black pepper (freshly ground is best)
- 5 Tbsp minced garlic (generous amount for garlic lovers)
- 7 Tbsp honey (adjust sweetness to taste)
- 5 Tbsp softened butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the fresh shrimp thoroughly. Peel the shells and devein them. Leaving the tails on can make them look more appealing.
Step 2
Pour a generous amount of high-quality olive oil into a deep pan or pot. Heat over medium-low heat. Using good quality olive oil will add great flavor and aroma, so it’s recommended.
Step 3
Once the olive oil is warm, add the sliced garlic cloves and sauté gently until fragrant. When the garlic begins to turn golden, add the dried red chili flakes (whole or crushed) to infuse a spicy kick. If you like it spicier, feel free to add more chilies or break them into smaller pieces.
Step 4
Add the prepared shrimp to the pan, ensuring they are submerged in the olive oil, and cook. Once the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, add the pitted olives and continue to simmer together.
Step 5
As the Gambas are nearing completion, sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the top for a beautiful garnish and added freshness.
Step 6
Now, let’s prepare the delicious garlic bread spread. In a bowl, combine the softened butter, generous minced garlic, sweet honey, and fragrant parsley and black pepper. Mix well to create the garlic butter spread.
Step 7
Using a spoon or brush, generously spread the prepared garlic butter mixture onto the top surface of the baguette slices. Spreading a little onto the sides will enhance the flavor even further.
Step 8
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F). Place the prepared garlic bread inside and air fry for about 5 minutes at a time, for a total of 10 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the bread and your air fryer model, so keep an eye on it. The goal is a crispy exterior and a moist, flavorful interior!
Step 9
Golden brown and beautifully toasted, your garlic bread is now bursting with sweet and savory garlic flavor! It’s perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft within.
Step 10
Serve the hot, bubbling Gambas al Ajillo alongside the freshly baked garlic bread for a meal that is incredibly easy yet impressively elegant. It’s also a fantastic appetizer or side dish! Enjoy the perfect pairing of these two dishes! ^^
