Crispy Air Fryer Tofu Patties
Super Easy Air Fryer Tofu Recipe: Crispy Outside, Soft Inside!
Most households have an air fryer these days, right? With an air fryer, you can make delicious pan-fried tofu (Dubu Buchim) incredibly easily. Enjoy this simple recipe for perfectly crispy tofu!
Ingredients- 1 block Firm Tofu (approx. 300-400g)
- 3 Tbsp Cooking Oil
- Pinch of Salt (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare 1 block of firm tofu. Gently rinse the tofu under running water to ensure it holds its shape before you start cooking.
Step 2
Place the rinsed tofu on a cutting board. Lightly pat the surface of the tofu dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen cloth. Removing excess moisture is key to preventing oil splattering and achieving a crispier texture.
Step 3
Cut the tofu into bite-sized pieces or your desired thickness. Slicing them about 1.5cm to 2cm thick is recommended to prevent them from breaking apart too easily.
Step 4
Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper. Arrange the cut tofu pieces in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap. This allows for even cooking and maximum crispiness on all sides.
Step 5
Brush the tops of the tofu pieces evenly with 3 tablespoons of cooking oil. Using a pastry brush makes this easy. Applying oil will help the tofu turn golden brown and crisp up nicely in the air fryer.
Step 6
Lightly sprinkle salt over the tofu surfaces. Adjust the amount to your preference, but be mindful not to over-salt; a gentle ‘sprinkle’ is usually enough.
Step 7
Once the air fryer is preheated, set the temperature to 180°C (350°F) and cook for 8 minutes. Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and the type of tofu used.
Step 8
After 8 minutes, carefully remove the tofu and flip each piece over. Lightly brush the other side with cooking oil, then return the tofu to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes at 180°C (350°F). After a total of about 13 minutes, you’ll have perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside tofu patties. Enjoy them while they’re warm!
