Sweet potatoes are delicious boiled, but they’re also incredibly tasty as a crunchy snack! They make for a healthy treat. Today, we’re making sweet potato sticks using an air fryer.

Step 1
First, thoroughly wash the sweet potato. Since we’ll be using the skin, it’s important to scrub it very well.

Slice the sweet potato into pieces about 0.5cm to 1cm thick. If they are too thin, they might burn, and if they are too thick, it will take a long time for them to cook through. Maintaining a moderate thickness is recommended.

Cut the sliced sweet potato into uniform stick shapes. Ensuring consistent thickness will help them cook at the same rate, resulting in even preparation.
Step 4
Arrange the cut sweet potato sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Then, spray them evenly with cooking oil, such as olive oil or vegetable oil. A light mist of oil will help achieve a crispier texture.
Step 5
Arrange the sweet potato sticks neatly in the air fryer without overlapping. Then, cook them in a preheated air fryer at 190°C (375°F) for 20 minutes.
Step 6
It’s crucial to open the air fryer halfway through the cooking time (around the 10-minute mark) and toss the sweet potato sticks. This ensures even cooking on all sides and promotes crispiness.
Step 7
Once golden brown and crispy, remove the sweet potato sticks and let them cool slightly. Enjoy your healthy, homemade air fryer sweet potato sticks – crispy on the outside and deliciously sweet on the inside! They’re delightful warm or completely cooled.
