Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Lightly rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry. Place them in a resealable bag or a large bowl. This ensures even coating of the seasoning and makes tossing them easier later.
Step 2
Season the chicken wings with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and dried parsley flakes. If using a resealable bag, close it and gently shake to distribute the seasonings. While this is delicious on its own, we’re going to make it even better!
Step 3
Add 4 tablespoons of potato starch to the seasoned chicken wings. The starch coating will help them achieve a crispy, almost fried texture. Once again, gently shake the bag or toss in the bowl to ensure the wings are evenly coated. A small drizzle of cooking oil at this stage will enhance crispiness and juiciness.
Step 4
Arrange the prepared chicken wings in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes. Then, flip the wings and continue to air fry at the same temperature for another 10 minutes. This ensures they cook through evenly and develop a nice golden-brown color.
Step 5
While the wings are cooking, prepare the glaze. In a pan, combine 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic, 2 Tbsp corn syrup, 1 Tbsp honey, 1 Tbsp vinegar, and 3 Tbsp water. Stir well to combine. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly into a glossy glaze. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 6
Once the chicken wings are done, transfer them to the pan with the prepared soy glaze. Quickly toss the wings in the sauce over medium-high heat for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, ensuring each wing is beautifully coated. This step is crucial for a glossy finish, but don’t cook for too long, or the glaze might burn.
