Main Ingredients

  • 5 leaves lettuce

Dressing (Tablespoon Measure)

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 1/2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Is your lettuce looking a little sad after a few days? Don’t toss it! Revive it by soaking in cold water for about 5 minutes. It will become wonderfully crisp and fresh again. Drain thoroughly, and you’ll have the perfect base for a crunchy salad.

Step 1

Step 2

Once drained, place the lettuce in a mixing bowl. You can tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces with your hands or cut them with kitchen scissors for convenience. No need for a cutting board!

Step 2

Step 3

Now, let’s make the delicious dressing! You can mix the dressing ingredients ahead of time to allow the flavors to meld, but it’s also perfectly fine to mix it right before tossing. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of gochugaru (Korean chili flakes), 1/2 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Finish with a generous tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds for nutty flavor. If you prefer a touch of tanginess, add about 1/2 tablespoon of vinegar.

Step 3

Step 4

Pour the prepared dressing over the lettuce. Gently toss everything together with your hands, ensuring the dressing coats every leaf evenly. Be gentle to avoid bruising the lettuce. Your fresh and flavorful lettuce salad is ready to enjoy!
