- 2 Tbsp sesame oil (for nutty aroma)
- 5 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili powder, adjust to your preference)
- 2 Tbsp fish sauce (anchovy or sand lance)
- 3 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds (generous amount)
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil (for nutty aroma)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Carefully trim the tough base of the spring cabbage with a knife. Then, gently separate each leaf.
Step 2
Rinse the separated cabbage leaves thoroughly under cold running water. If the leaves are too large, tear them into bite-sized pieces with your hands. Finally, gently shake off excess water.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine the prepared spring cabbage with all the seasoning ingredients: gochugaru, fish sauce, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Gently mix everything with your hands until well combined.
Step 4
When mixing the salad, avoid tossing too vigorously or scrubbing the leaves. This can make the cabbage mushy and lose its crisp texture. Gently toss and mix to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
Step 5
Transfer the beautifully seasoned spring cabbage salad to a serving dish. For a final touch of nutty flavor and visual appeal, sprinkle generously with toasted sesame seeds.
