  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Seasoned mix
  • Servings : 3 servings

Essential Ingredients

  • Fresh Chives: 0.5 bunch (approx. 130g)
  • 1 Red Cheongyang Pepper
  • 0.5 Paprika (color of your choice)
  • 0.5 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 0.5 Tbsp Soup Soy Sauce (Guk-ganjang)
  • 1 Tbsp Finely Ground Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Savory Sesame Oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 0.5 bunch (about 130g) of fresh chives. Fresh chives are crucial for retaining their fragrant aroma and crisp texture. Wash them thoroughly under running water to remove any debris and lightly pat them dry.

Step 1

Step 2

Cut the prepared chives into manageable pieces, about 5cm in length. Cutting them to a suitable size will make them easier to eat.

Step 2

Step 3

Place all the chopped chives into a clean bowl. Now it’s time to gently wilt the chives to make them tender.

Step 3

Step 4

Pour hot boiling water lightly over the chives. Gently stir with a spatula or spoon, just enough to wilt the chives (for about 30 seconds). Be careful not to overcook them, as they will become mushy. Immediately rinse the blanched chives under cold water to stop the cooking process, then firmly squeeze out any excess water with your hands.

Step 4

Step 5

Remove the seeds from 1 red Cheongyang pepper, then finely chop it. You can easily remove the seeds by making a cross-shaped cut at the stem end and then tapping the pepper gently. Adjust the spiciness to your preference.

Step 5

Step 6

Add the chopped red Cheongyang pepper to the squeezed chives. This will add a beautiful color and a slightly spicy flavor, enhancing the overall taste.

Step 6

Step 7

Thinly slice half a paprika and add it to the mix. Using colorful paprikas like red or yellow will make the dish visually appealing and add a delightful crunchiness.

Step 7

Step 8

Now, add all the seasoning ingredients: 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic, 0.5 Tbsp soup soy sauce, 1 Tbsp finely ground toasted sesame seeds, and 1 Tbsp savory sesame oil. (DuriMoon made this recipe with a slightly milder seasoning so it can be enjoyed in larger quantities without feeling heavy. Please adjust the seasoning to your taste.)

Step 8

Step 9

After adding all the ingredients, gently toss everything together to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed. Use chopsticks or a spatula to carefully mix. Your simple yet delicious stir-fried chives are ready! Chives are rich in vitamins A and C, and carbohydrates. They also offer benefits such as detoxification, improved blood circulation, assistance with diabetes management, and boosting energy metabolism by stimulating the autonomic nerves, making them a great addition to a healthy diet.

Step 9

Step 10

Briefly blanching the chives before seasoning is the key to maintaining their crisp texture and fragrant aroma. Isn’t it incredibly simple? The natural sweetness of the chives combined with the seasoning creates a wonderfully flavorful side dish. Enjoy your meal and stay healthy always! Thank you for today.
