Creamy & Savory Baek Jong Won’s Milk Ramen
Baek Jong Won’s Rich and Creamy Milk Ramen Recipe – A Hit with Kids!
My kids specifically asked for milk ramen, so I decided to try this recipe inspired by Baek Jong Won. I was initially skeptical about how ramen would taste with milk, but to my surprise, it turned out incredibly rich, creamy, and delicious! It’s a simple yet surprisingly delightful dish that’s perfect for a quick and comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 packet of instant ramen (choose your favorite type)
- 2 cups of fresh milk (approx. 400ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a wide pot, add enough water to fully submerge the ramen noodles and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook them until they are only about 70% done, which should take approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Be careful not to overcook them, as they will continue to cook in the milk. Once the noodles are partially cooked, quickly drain all the water.
Step 2
Return the pot (without rinsing) and pour in 2 cups of cold fresh milk (approximately 400ml). Adding cold milk right away helps the noodles cook perfectly in the sauce, resulting in a tender texture.
Step 3
Add both the powder soup base and the dried vegetable packet that came with your ramen. You can adjust the amount of soup base to your personal preference. Once the milk begins to simmer, stir well to dissolve the soup base.
Step 4
As the milk heats up and mixes with the soup base, add the partially cooked ramen noodles back into the pot. Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes until the noodles are perfectly tender and cooked through. Once the noodles are done to your liking, turn off the heat, ladle the creamy milk ramen into a serving bowl, and enjoy your delicious, comforting meal!
