Quick and Easy Microwave Cheesy Steamed Egg Recipe
Eggs are one of those staple ingredients always found in the fridge, aren’t they? I always make sure to restock them before they run out! I decided to make a cheesy steamed egg using the ingredients I had on hand. It’s incredibly simple and perfect to pair with spicy dishes!
Ingredients
- 1 Egg
- 2 Tbsp Milk
- 1 slice American Cheese
- 1.5 Tbsp Mayonnaise
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
This is such a simple steamed egg recipe, it’s almost not even a recipe! It’s especially perfect served with spicy foods. Crack 1 egg into a bowl and add 1 slice of American cheese, torn into smaller pieces.

Next, add 1.5 tablespoons of mayonnaise for a rich flavor and 2 tablespoons of milk for a smooth, creamy texture.
Step 3
Whisk everything together thoroughly until well combined, much like you would for scrambled eggs. Make sure to break up any clumps of the sliced cheese so it disperses evenly throughout the egg mixture.
Step 4
Pour the well-mixed egg batter into a microwave-safe bowl. Now, we’ll microwave it for a total of 1 minute. Microwave for 30 seconds, then carefully remove the bowl and give it a quick stir with a chopstick or fork. Return it to the microwave and cook for another 30 seconds. This two-step process ensures a perfectly cooked, fluffy steamed egg!

Voila! Your delicious cheesy steamed egg, with its savory and rich flavor, is ready. I debated adding salt, but decided against it, and I’m glad I did!
