Salad Ingredients- 10 cherry tomatoes
- 1 ball fresh burrata cheese
Dressing & Toppings- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Pinch of black pepper, to taste
- Small amount of grated Parmesan cheese
- Small amount of kimchi seasoning (optional, for added flavor)
- Pinch of dried parsley flakes (for garnish)
- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Pinch of black pepper, to taste
- Small amount of grated Parmesan cheese
- Small amount of kimchi seasoning (optional, for added flavor)
- Pinch of dried parsley flakes (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
To thoroughly clean the cherry tomatoes, fill a bowl with water and dissolve 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Submerge the cherry tomatoes in the solution and let them soak for about 5 minutes. Baking soda helps to effectively remove pesticides and impurities.
Step 2
Rinse the soaked cherry tomatoes under running water until completely clean. After rinsing, place them in a colander to drain any excess water, ensuring your salad won’t become watery.
Step 3
Once clean, remove the stems from the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half. You can either lightly sauté them in a pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil until softened, or use them fresh. Sautéing them concentrates their sweetness and creates a softer texture.
Step 4
For this recipe, I halved the cherry tomatoes and gently tossed them with 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil as a simple dressing. I then chilled them in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. This step enhances their freshness and flavor.
Step 5
Carefully remove the burrata cheese from its packaging and place it on a sieve to drain any excess liquid. Handle the delicate burrata gently to prevent it from breaking before serving.
Step 6
Arrange the chilled, dressed cherry tomatoes on the base of your serving plate. Sprinkle a small amount of grated Parmesan cheese over the tomatoes, followed by a grind of black pepper for aroma. Gently place the drained burrata cheese ball on top of the tomatoes, right in the center.
Step 7
To finalize the presentation and flavor, lightly sprinkle more black pepper over the burrata cheese. Add a pinch of kimchi seasoning for a unique umami kick, and finish with a scattering of dried parsley flakes for a touch of color and freshness. Your beautiful Burrata Cheese Salad is now ready to be enjoyed!
