Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a small, deep bowl, combine 65g of chilled animal-based heavy whipping cream and 5g of sugar. You can adjust the sugar amount based on your sweetness preference.
Step 2
Using a mini electric frother or hand mixer, start whipping the cream and sugar mixture. Tilt the bowl slightly to ensure the frother incorporates the cream effectively.
Step 3
At this stage, we only need to lightly whip the cream until it’s just combined and slightly thickened. We’re aiming for a soft consistency, as it will be whipped again later. Stop when it looks smooth and a bit lighter.
Step 4
Prepare your serving glass. Fill it about 60% full with ice cubes. Using plenty of ice will keep your latte refreshingly cold for longer.
Step 5
Gently pour 110ml of cold milk over the ice in the glass. Pouring slowly over the ice helps minimize noise and creates a smooth layer.
Step 6
Brew 2 shots of rich espresso (approximately 60ml). Brewing directly over the glass will capture the freshest aroma and flavor.
Step 7
Once the espresso is brewed, carefully pour the hot espresso over the milk and ice in the glass. Watch as the espresso slowly descends, creating beautiful layers.
Step 8
Give the cream mixture a second, more thorough whipping. Aim for a consistency where soft peaks form when you lift the frother. Spoon about 2 to 3 generous tablespoons of this whipped cream over the espresso layer.
Step 9
To create a beautiful presentation, gently spoon another dollop of cream onto the top, shaping it slightly to stand tall, like a soft mountain. This enhances the visual appeal of the layered latte.
Step 10
Finally, dust a small amount of cocoa powder over the cream topping using a fine sieve. The hint of cocoa adds a lovely complexity to the creamy latte.
Step 11
And there you have it – a perfect Cream Latte with its luxurious cream and robust espresso! Enjoy this delightful homemade treat that’s as beautiful to look at as it is delicious to drink.
