An anticancer recipe: Mini Kabocha Squash Egg Slut
I made a satisfying snack: Mini Kabocha Squash Egg Slut. You can make it easily using the microwave! Mini kabocha squash has high sweetness and a fluffy texture, making it perfect for children’s snacks. It’s also said to be good for reducing swelling and for dieting, so I should definitely try to eat more mini kabocha squash. Haha!
Ingredients- 3 mini kabocha squashes
- 1/4 onion
- 3 eggs
- Pinch of salt
- Mozzarella cheese, to taste
- 3 slices cheddar cheese
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Here are the mini kabocha squashes, perfectly sized to fit in one hand. They are wonderful because you can eat them with the skin on.
Step 2
Since we’ll be eating the skin, thoroughly scrub the kabocha squash with baking soda to ensure it’s clean. It’s important to wash it meticulously.
Step 3
Wrap the washed mini kabocha squash in plastic wrap and microwave for 5 minutes. Make sure the stem part is facing downwards. This helps the inside cook evenly.
Step 4
Finely dice the onion. You can skip this step if you prefer, but adding diced onion enhances the flavor.
Step 5
This is the mini kabocha squash after being microwaved for 5 minutes. It should feel slightly soft to the touch.
Step 6
Carefully cut off the top part of the kabocha squash to create a lid, then use a spoon to scoop out the insides. Be cautious as it will be hot!
Step 7
In the hollowed-out kabocha squash, add the diced onion and a pinch of salt. Adjust seasoning to your preference.
Step 8
Crack one egg into each kabocha squash. Then, gently prick the yolk a couple of times with a fork. This prevents the yolk from exploding in the microwave, ensuring safety.
Step 9
Generously sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the egg, then tear the cheddar cheese slices and place them on top. Cheese is love, so don’t be shy with it! Haha.
Step 10
Microwave again for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. The lid can be microwaved along with it. After 5 minutes, check if the cheese has melted well. You can test if the yolk is cooked by inserting a toothpick; if it’s still runny, microwave for an additional 2 minutes. Your cozy mini kabocha egg slut is now complete! The semi-cooked yolk is wonderfully moist. It’s a delicious and satisfying snack, perfect for enjoying anytime. This mini kabocha egg slut is truly a treat!
