I made this sausage and vegetable stir-fry, a dish my whole family loves, using ingredients I found while clearing out my fridge. It’s colorful, quick, and incredibly delicious!

  • 1/2 Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 1/2 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 small Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 small Onion

Prepare all the ingredients for a delicious sausage and vegetable stir-fry. Make sure to wash and trim them thoroughly.

Remove the seeds from the bell peppers and green pepper, then wash them. Slice the onion, bell peppers, and green pepper into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 1.5 cm wide. Cutting them to a similar size ensures they cook evenly and look appealing.

Slice the sausages into manageable pieces, about 1.5 to 2 cm thick. You can also score them diagonally with a knife; this helps them cook evenly and absorb the sauce better, making them look more appetizing.

Blanch the sliced sausages in boiling water for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. This step helps remove excess oil and impurities, resulting in a cleaner taste. Immediately drain them in a colander and rinse under cold running water to cool them down.

Now, let’s start stir-frying! Melt approximately 20g of butter in a pan over medium heat. The rich flavor of butter will enhance the taste of the vegetables and sausages.

Once the butter has melted, add the sliced onion to the pan. Sauté the onion over low heat until it becomes translucent. Cooking the onions well will bring out their natural sweetness, balancing the overall flavor of the dish.

When the onion starts to turn translucent, add the blanched sausages (drained of water) along with the sliced bell peppers and green pepper to the pan. Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir-fry all the ingredients, ensuring they don’t burn.

Once the ingredients are nicely sautéed, add 2 tablespoons of ketchup and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce coats everything evenly. The combination of tangy ketchup and savory oyster sauce creates a fantastic flavor profile.

Turn off the heat and sprinkle a generous amount of sesame seeds over the top for garnish. The nutty aroma of the sesame seeds adds a final delicious touch. Serve immediately while hot for the best taste!
