- 6 Button Mushrooms
- 1/2 Bell Pepper (any color)
- 2 Korean Green Chilies (optional, for a spicy kick)
- 2 cloves Garlic (or 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic)
Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1.5 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (or other sweetener, adjust to taste)
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine (e.g., Mirin)
- 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 Tbsp Water
- 0.5 Tbsp Perilla Oil (for finishing aroma)
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1.5 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (or other sweetener, adjust to taste)
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine (e.g., Mirin)
- 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 Tbsp Water
- 0.5 Tbsp Perilla Oil (for finishing aroma)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the vegetables for stir-frying. Clean the button mushrooms, trim the ends, and slice them into bite-sized pieces. Remove the seeds from the bell pepper and cut it into similar sizes. If using Korean green chilies, deseed them and finely chop. Mince the garlic cloves. (Pre-minced garlic can also be used.)
Step 2
To make your stir-fry even easier, prepare the sauce in advance. In a small bowl, combine 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1.5 Tbsp oligosaccharide, 1 Tbsp cooking wine, 1 Tbsp water, and about 0.5 tsp black pepper. Whisk until well combined. You can substitute oligosaccharide with honey or another liquid sweetener. Adjust the sweetness to your preference.
Step 3
Now, let’s start stir-frying! Heat 1-2 Tbsp of cooking oil in a pan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté gently until fragrant, creating a garlic-infused oil. Be careful not to burn the garlic; cook until it’s lightly golden. The aroma of the garlic will make the dish even more delicious.
Step 4
Once the garlic is golden brown, add the prepared bell pepper, Korean green chilies (if using), and button mushrooms to the pan. Stir-fry over medium-high heat for about 1-2 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened but still have a pleasant crunch. Keeping the vegetables crisp is key to this dish.
Step 5
When the vegetables are partially stir-fried, pour the pre-mixed sauce evenly into the pan. Toss the ingredients to coat them well with the sauce.
Step 6
Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to stir-fry until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the ingredients beautifully, about 2-3 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld perfectly. Finish by drizzling in 0.5 Tbsp of perilla oil for a wonderful aroma.
Step 7
Your delicious Bell Pepper and Mushroom Stir-Fry is ready! Serve it over warm rice or pack it as a flavorful side dish for lunch. Enjoy this visually appealing and tasty healthy treat!
